Shake Shack Buckhead
Custom Patio Cover in Atlanta's Buckhead District

A unique architectural challenge in one of Atlanta's densest urban neighborhoods. A city-mandated tree-save requirement meant the patio cover had to be designed around an existing tree, creating the distinctive honeycomb-shaped canopy that defines this Shake Shack location.
The Challenge
Dense urban site with limited staging and parking for installation crews, plus a city tree-save requirement that dictated the canopy's footprint. Every structural member had to clear the protected tree while still providing full coverage for the outdoor dining area.
The Solution
Jackson Williams engineered a custom honeycomb-shaped patio cover that wraps around the protected tree. Each piece was precision-fabricated to fit together seamlessly, then carefully mobilized and installed in a tight urban setting with restricted crew access.
Scope of Work
- Custom patio cover design & engineering
- Aluminum fabrication
